14/8/08 The Australian Supermoto Championships Round
2 were held in Mildura last weekend.
Bloody awesome show . . . click
HERE for some Gossip 'n
Pics
12/8/08 Things have been a bit busy lately at arms
HQ. Good news was a couple of weeks ago Adrian Fitzgerald
competed at the Australian Off Road Championships on his CRF250X
with a
Stealth
re-engineered rear Showa Shock to knock off one of the countries
all time greats Geoff Ballard by some 30 seconds after 8 or 9
Special Tests over 2 Days of competition....... were pretty
stoked over that we can tell ya.
27/7/08 The annual Nhill Pony Express was yet again
a spectacular affair. Born form the Green Triangle Enduro Club,
and lots of help from Trish, this event is still running strong
now with the Local Club at Nhill continuing with what has turned
out to be a great formula. We haven't got the actual results,
but can tell ya Luke / Anthony Greene Damien /
Heath Fitzy / Colwill were all in amongst the
Trophies. I also counted the bikes on the Warm Up Lap . . . 103
which looked pretty spekky
Damien before and after chatting with co-rider Heath

Something a little different
coming up at MacPark on the October 18 & 19th is Colin
Thompson's....."All Sorts Motorcycle Rally". Whilst
it doesn't include Track use, it does include camping etc at
MacPark, the event has flexible rides etc around the district
for all to join in on. See Colin's Flyer
HERE
6/7/08 Went for a bit of a low key crooz with the
tribe on Sat aft which was organized through the
Forum,
she was a pretty good day on the weather with a fresh Northerly
breeze, so we decided ta head South to
PortMac
for a nice warm coffee. Saddling up, Mom keeps an
eye
on her offspring, have a look at this mischievous
looking
pair.
We didn't get far outta Pt.Mac when we struck a bit of
bother,
Trish was
suggestive
about what Rod could do with this bit. We motored on
to Donavons n back to the Mt. Thanks to Rod, the Cows stayed
well away from the fences and we never saw a Kangaroo all day :)
Mom says this was the
best lookin
bike on the ride . . .
14/6/08 Out and about for a ride, a 4 Bike Crooz
280km from Mt.Gambier - Portland Enduro - Digby via some great
country in the Crawford River area - Railway Line - Home.
Great ride on a lucky Sunny winters day.
Adventure Rides about the district are coordinated using the
Forum

Grant Stars at the Portland Enduro :

7/6/08 Elliot's
Big Ride . . . included Mount Gambier . . .
Tony Kirby and Tony Tevoret rode right round the South Australian Border
raising dollars for Kids with Cancer,
they stopped off at the Cave Gardens for a Barby

30/5/08 DO YOU OR YOUR KIDS HAVE A SUPER
POLICY or worse still POLICY"S
Wow took a while to complete this . . . about 6 months !
If you have a Super Policy or most importantly your Kids may
have just started a working a Job or two...... have a read at
http://www.thearmsreport.com.au/super/
It
should have you at the very least doing some sums on your Kids
Super Fund if not your own Super Fund. Our Complaint was with
ANZ and ING, it only took 6 months of lots of paperwork and
phones calls to sort . . . hopefully thearmsreport super page
may help you look into your own situation. This Industry
is so well regulated ALL Super Fund Providers do very similar
things, even the Paperwork is the same amongst different Funds !
It's how much you loose that changes, that's if you haven't
already lost the lot !
20/4/08 BBJ forwarded this on us, it's a lil clip so
hope it works on your PC.
If
this bloke can do it . . . bring back racing in the
streets
I reckon !
14/4/08 Barney's annual Halls Gap Ride got a little
interupted by a good rain which moved in Friday evening, and
depending on where ya was.....all Friday night.
Lucky for Trish and I, we managed to be riding along next to it
during Friday, Paul n Trudy trailered up in the rain so they
were right too and Peter & Kathleen rode up on Sat morning also
missing the rain....good timing all round. Just got
a couple of pics as we were too busy enjoying the ridin . . .
Trish threatens to throw my bike
down a
big hole after taking her up a dirt road for an hour n a
half . . . Unbelievable
country . . . this must has taken heaps of
skill
. . . Trish wondering what the
f%&^
'i'm up to . . . Trish after 2 hours floggin up a gravel road to
get
here . . . pondering the
map
for more dirt roads.
not all me
mates could make it . . . All good fun and can't wait till
the next run
14/2/08 Do a bit of Trail Riding ?....Perhaps a Quad
in the bush..... etc etc .....a while back now thearmsreport
mentioned a bloke called Simon White, he's been pretty busy
justifying his new job....... have a look at this newsletter.
One great thing I noticed was the noise testing...... a pretty
good percentage of bikes passed !
bush_riding
3/2/08 Summer is slipping by but thanks to Aaron
working, Trish and I got to have a "quiet" day out at the
Portland Drags. It was my first run this year as Aaron is the
regular pilot.....just coz he's quicker.
It
was the Drags for Wishes meet and I'd have to say without
knowing that it was a roaring success, there was a heap of
people looking, some awesome looking cars, and not to mention a
great turnout of bikes.
If
your keen on a run, they do the Friday nights preceding the
Saturday racing, see
Calendar.
Roll up with your registered car or bike ( stock pipes n stuff )
for Friday Nights for street runs.
Saturday Racing roll up with anything long as it's safe to use.
Us lot prefer the racing but sheez sudden death stuff and you
need a fair bit of skill to win a day, lots of fun trying
though........One winner and a heap of loosers in this game.
I
reckon every one with a car or bike should at least have one go
at it and see how ya run, ya never know, you might be good at it
as HP etc don't matter in this game. It's handy if ya got
a few though to generate some smoke.

Gav waits quietly while I generate smoke . . . then rudely
leaves me behind . . . Trish's Pics

We have had a couple of good rides lately
around the district, first one was the Dergholm run (first pic
here where Trish shows the Harley how to get round
corners........ and the others were taken at the Halls Gap Run)
Great riding country up there and well worth
the trip

4/12/07 Doug Francis hands over a
nice new Suzuki GSXR1000 for Christmas. We'll have
ta get Barney to keep us posted on how she goes . . . If the
ride back from Hamilton was anything to go by . . . awesome
machine.

Got a few happy snaps from last Saturdays Road Ride up
to Dergholm and back from the Mount.
We had a "sensible"
group, although there was the odd smell of burning rubber from
time to time, isn't it funny how ya just cant seem to wear old
tyres out.....still working on that one.
It doesn't matter where
you take Trish, she seems to be
cleaning -
cleaning and
cleaning
BBJ follows a great
example

This is a typical Adventure Trail Ride we do around the
district :
posted 17/6/06 Chris E took us for his
farewell adventure ride last weekend around the western district's
of victoria. We covered some 270 odd km's with 8 riders,
most of whom were on Suzuki's would you believe! It was
a great ride but one thing was a little surprising.......not if your
a farmer........is how dry it looks out there....we even had some
dust on a few of the sections. Anyway we got a few pics
of the ride .....
chris
fillin up at dartmoor ........
egg
keeping the wildlife at bay ......
grantly chasing a snake ...... but that's ok coz he was only
playing with
hiscock ...... the boys
coming
down from the big hill ......
drink
time ...... chris g talking crap
(see
over his left shoulder) ...... and ......
nothin
like a country pub ......this last pic wasn't working for some
reason.......more head scratchin......but now she does !

A "no club no fees" Dirt Bike trail ride, leaves Mt. Gambier to
explore the district. Runs do include servo's for fuel & munchies &
sometimes pubs for lunch. The run also uses the corner man system to keep the group
moving, with a transport speed of around 90 kmh ( it's not a race ).
